Kazuko Fukuda, FIFTYS PROJECT - Keynote Speaker

Kazuko Fukuda is a leading Japanese sexual and reproductive health rights activist and founder of the #Nandenaino Project, which means 'why don't we have?', launched in 2018 to advocate to ensure access to comprehensive sexuality education, modern contraception, and safe abortion in Japan. After earning a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, she worked with UNFPA Rwanda, advancing sexual and reproductive health rights in refugee camps. Now based in Tokyo, Kazuko is vice president of the FIFTYS PROJECT, supporting young feminists to enter politics. Named one of Forbes Japan’s 30 Under 30 in 2023, she is also a project researcher at the University of Tokyo from 2024 and a member of the WAS Youth Initiative Committee from 2017.
